Santa Barbara
My husband and I went on a mini getaway to Santa Barbara last weekend. We went to a Farmers Market where we found this yarn bowl made by a local artist. Apparently, he had been commissioned to make two bowls for a woman, so he made two extra ones. He said he was having trouble selling the other two so he gave us one for $20. Not too bad.

First... and Last Pair of Mittens
I knitted these mitten two at a time using Magic Loop. I started them during my Christmas break from work and stopped when the thumbs started bugging me. This morning I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and could not go back to sleep, so I finished my thumbs. Not the most enjoyable project, but I will have warm hands now when I walk my dog around the neighborhood.

Fleesensee Hat
This was a very intricate pattern with lots of new stitches to learn. A lot of counting and sore fingers!

Knox Hat
This pattern was challenging! I usually am not a fan of hats with a purl background, but I liked the mountain-looking detail in this pattern. I think I had to unravel all my stitches at least four times before I got the count right. When it was time to decrease and switch to double-pointed needles it was difficult with the purls. I would definitely use magic loop if I make it again.

Knitting Care Package
I had a lot of fun gathering and assembling this care package for my knitting friend. I especially love the knit 1, purl 2 spoon I found on Etsy.

21 Color Slouch
I was really looking forward to making this hat. It actually knitted up pretty quick, considering I used size 7 needles. While I enjoyed it, I did not like how the stripes turned out (not lining up). The stripes were a series of two's, three's and one's. "Meg's Jogless Jog" technique works pretty good for the three stripe areas. The biggest problem were the one stripes. I searched and searched for a good method for one stripes, but only found a couple ways that made sense to me. The overall look isn't the greatest. I am blocking it right now to try to even things out, so we shall see.
